Our Story
Marcia and Jim Griffin launched HomeFree-USA in 1994 with a vision to improve the financial lives of thousands through financial education, homeownership guidance, and housing development opportunities.Â
As the owners of National Loan Service Center, the first and largest African American-owned mortgage servicing company in the country, Jim and Marcia were deeply concerned by the high rates of mortgage default among underserved homeowners. That challenge inspired them to create solutions that help families achieve and sustain homeownership.
Thirty years later, HomeFree-USA is still on the frontlines serving the diverse interests of 63 million consumers through its national intermediary network. We connect government, the real estate finance industry, and consumers to create new homebuyers, sustainable homeowners, affordable homes and revitalized communities.
Our Truths. Our Culture
These Truths embody the HomeFree-USA culture—our passport to how we work, how we lead, and how we serve. Just like a real passport opens the door to new destinations, the Truths guide our journey together, shaping every action, decision, and relationship.
They ensure we consistently deliver exceptional value, build lasting connections, and create a positive, professional environment. These Truths are the stamps we collect along the way—proof of our commitment to trust, excellence, and transformational impact.
By living these Truths every day, we move our mission forward—one meaningful step at a time.
