A Public-Private Partnership That Positively Impacts Lives
When HomeFree-USA partnered with Experian® to offer the Experian CreditCenter® to homebuyers and homeowners, the goal was ambitious but simple: provide 5,000 consumers with a free tool to improve credit and their financial health.
Twelve months later, the HomeFree-USA nationwide network of HUD-approved housing counseling agencies did not just reach that goal—we more than doubled it with a total of 10,789 consumers enrolled.
This demand demonstrates:
The power of public-private sector partnerships. HomeFree-USA simplifies and accelerates the industry’s ability to reach untapped markets with access to 6.3 million homebuyers and homeowners across our network.
"The extraordinary interest in Experian CreditCenter® speaks volumes about the need for trusted resources that help people navigate their journey to homeownership. We’re grateful to HomeFree-USA and their network for their partnership and proud that Experian’s expertise, innovation and technology are helping empower consumers to take greater control of their financial future. This is exactly the kind of impact we hope to create, and we’re excited to continue this work together,” says Raudy Perez, vice president of Inclusion & Belonging for Experian.
The importance of trusted sources, like local housing counseling organizations and community leaders, to get consumers to take action. There are hundreds of free financial tools on the market, but many go un or underused because they don’t know or trust the provider. Since nonprofits are already beacons of reliable financial guidance and pillars of the community, consumers are more likely to do what is advised.
From coast to coast, nonprofit and faith-based leaders incorporated the Experian CreditCenter® into their homebuyer counseling, financial coaching, and foreclosure prevention services. They introduced consumers to the platform, explained its benefits, and helped enrollees turn the simulator’s suggestions into an actionable plan.
Seeing my credit information in one place and understanding what I could improve gave me the confidence to create a plan and stay on track for buying a home. Says Olga S., Experian CreditCenter® user.
Consumers are committed to improving their financial wellbeing. In a time of tremendous economic uncertainty, people are motivated to improve their credit and achieve their homeownership goals.
Our affiliates turn great tools into real results by meeting consumers where they are and helping them take the next step toward homeownership. Says Simone Griffin Taylor, EVP, Managing Director of Affiliate Network – HomeFree-USA
While reaching 10,789 enrollments is a significant milestone, the true success of the program extends beyond the numbers.
The Experian CreditCenter® became an invaluable resource for our clients. Through our Homeownership Fair and Homebuyer Education classes, we connected more than 600 aspiring homeowners with the platform, providing them with clear, actionable steps to improve their credit and better position themselves for mortgage readiness. This partnership helped turn financial education into measurable progress." - Hyepin Im, President & CEO, Faith and Community Empowerment (FACE)
Access to the Experian CreditCenter® concluded on June 30, 2026, but our commitment to elevating communities financially continues. Let’s work together to increase impact, show results, and transform lives.
When we partner, everyone WINS!
