When Kiescha Ki Cherry set out to buy her first home, she realized how much she did not know. “I didn’t understand the homebuying process,” she says. “I had to educate myself, and I had to learn.” One way she did that was by working with a HomeFree-USA Homeownership Advisor, and in June of 2019 she achieved her goal.

But she came away from the experience with more than a home. She also had a new sense of purpose. With a background in communications and a love for teaching, she wanted to help other first-time homebuyers follow in her footsteps. “I wanted to provide that education to others,” she says.

Today she is doing just that. As a realtor with Keller Williams Preferred Properties, her attention to detail is one thing that sets her apart from other real estate professionals. “With all of my homebuyer clients, I sit down and go over the contracts with them,” she says. Recognizing that many homebuyers are making one of the biggest investments they will ever make, she want them to have all the information they need to make the best decisions.

She also understands the importance of financial education and urges her clients to get homeownership counseling like she did when she was homebuyer. “From my personal experience, I see the value in what HomeFree-USA does,” she says.

Kiescha advises homebuyers and sellers to find the right partners and build a strong team. “I really want to make sure that my clients are informed and empowered so that they know exactly what they’re getting into,” she says. You can reach Kiescha Cherry at kicherry@kw.com.
