Pulled from the Brink of Foreclosure
Denise was a proud homeowner when the COVID-19 pandemic threatened to take away all that she had worked long and hard for.
Though she had two jobs, Denise found herself in the hospital and unable to work at either of them. “It was to the point where I had no income coming in,” she says. As a result she fell behind on her mortgage.
Denise asked her lender for help, but did not get the support she wanted.
Not sure what to do next, Denise happened to be listening to a radio show where she learned about a foreclosure prevention webinar being hosted by HomeFree-USA. She logged onto Zoom to attend the virtual event and was impressed by what she saw. Then she connected with HomeFree-USA Homeownership Advisor Gary Plummer. He spoke with her lender on her behalf and was able to help her apply for a Covid relief program. She was approved and given time to get back on her feet.
After a few months, not only was Denise able to catch up on her mortgage payments but now she is a month ahead.
She’s glad she took the time to attend the webinar that day. “If it wasn’t for Mr. Plumber, I think I would have lost my house,” she says.
For others who find themselves falling behind on their mortgage payments whether because of a job loss, illness, or any other reason, Denise recommends that they do what she did and reach out for assistance. “There’s an answer out there and a company that is willing to help,” she says. “Keep moving until you get the answer you need.”
