Let’s Transform Lives & Keep Families in Their Homes
At the end of the day, what matters most is the impact we can have on the people we serve.
Frieda Williams, a Homeownership Advisor, shared that, when the clients finally get through and hear a human voice, they breathe a sigh of relief. “It’s such a burden lifted from them. A single father said to me, “You know, I’m a single dad, I can’t be placed out in the streets with my child.” He had been so frustrated by the program qualification process, but when the funds finally came through, he broke down in tears.”
When you’re afraid of losing your home, it’s hard to think about anything else.
Marcus Purnell, another Homeownership Advisor, had a client who, furloughed at the start of the shutdown, had been without employment for months. “Her stress level, being behind on rent, made it hard for her at interviews. She couldn’t concentrate. When the funding was provided, her stress was lifted… She could now go and interview with a clear conscience. Relieved of worry, she could apply and interview with confidence—and that made all the difference. She quickly landed a job.”
