Enact’s Mortgage Industry Development Program recognized as one of nine innovative diversity programs

Enact Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: ACT) (Enact) a leading provider of private mortgage insurance through its insurance subsidiaries, continues to lead the mortgage and housing industry forward through innovation, service, excellence, and top talent. Enact was named one of nine recipients of the Profiles in Diversity Journal’s 2022 Innovations in Diversity Award.

Profiles in Diversity Journal’s 19th Annual International Innovation in Diversity Award honors organizations and institutions around the world that are developing innovative solutions for today’s pressing workforce challenges in the areas of diversity, inclusion, and human equity. Enact received the recognition for its Mortgage Industry Development Program which provides education about the mortgage industry to students at historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs).

“We are very proud of the Mortgage Industry Development Program (MIDP). Over time, this program will develop a more diverse talent pipeline which will ultimately help the industry resemble the borrowers it serves,” said Enact President and Chief Executive Officer Rohit Gupta. “We are also very appreciative of our partnership with HomeFree-USA’s Center for Financial Advancement (CFA). By leveraging the CFA’s existing relationships with HBCUs, we are able to have a broader reach which significantly contributes to the success of the MIDP.”

Gwendolyn Garnett, Executive Director of the CFA said, “The HomeFree-USA Center for Financial Advancement empowers, educates and develops diverse leaders for Corporate America and the real estate finance industry. We are providing financial, homeownership, and leadership development. Students gain knowledge that enables them to build a solid financial foundation to help them be successful. Our programs provide access to industries and individuals that these students would not otherwise have and sets them up for success.”

Enact created the MIDP in 2021 in partnership with the CFA. The program provides HBCU students with awareness around career opportunities in the mortgage industry and gives them the foundation they need to begin a successful career in the field. Thus far, the MIDP has reached a total of 67 students at 11 different schools.
