HFUSA marks National Homeownership Month with events

Planned events are designed to showcase and promote homeownership as a path to wealth in America.

The events include a lunch and learn event for Realtors on Friday, June 2. The event, in partnership with Bank of America and Freddie Mac, will feature Terry Watson, the most booked Real Estate Keynote speaker on the planet.

The Bank of America and Freddie Mac partnership continues on June 3 with a large homebuyer event at the Reginald F. Lewis Museum in Baltimore, MD. The event features former Baltimore Ravens linebacker, Jameel McClain. Homebuyer attendees will learn about the benefits of homeownership, what it takes to buy a home, affordable mortgage products and downpayment assistance programs.

HomeFree-USA joins the HOPE NOW Alliance on Tuesday June 6 for a Baltimore Housing Roundtable. The Roundtable will deliver industry updates to Baltimore area mortgage and housing professionals. The challenges and opportunities in Baltimore will be discussed. Raymond Skinner, President and CEO of East Baltimore Development, Inc. will give opening remarks.

On Saturday, June 10, HomeFree-USA will participate in the 2017 Prince George’s County Housing Fair. Staff will be on hand to distribute resources, answer questions about buying a home and preparing for first time homeownership.

Robert Robertson, Regional Sales Manager with Wells Fargo, will be the featured guest at a Meet an Outstanding Partner event at the HomeFree-USA office. The event, part of a continuing series, shares with nonprofits, realtors and others perspectives on housing industry issues relative to their business.

HomeFree-USA will again be in the community on Saturday, June 24 at the 9th Annual DC Department of Housing and Community Development Housing Expo / Home Show. HomeFree-USA staff will host first-time homebuyer workshops.
